In 2002, the Maternal and Child Health Bureau awarded ASIP a federal cooperative agreement to develop the National Sudden and Unexpected Infant/Child Death & Pregnancy Loss Project IMPACT. The project supports state and local infant mortality programs by sharing information, promoting policy and legislative changes, and fostering partnerships and communication. The State-to-State SIDS/ID Listserv is moderated by Project IMPACT to provide a user-friendly forum for practitioners, policymakers and researchers to seek advice, share ideas, pose questions, discuss issues, and network with colleagues in other states and at the national level.
